Manufacturing: BOMs and Work Orders
Create bills of materials, track component stock, and run work orders to produce finished goods.
Creating a Bill of Materials (BOM)
Go to Manufacturing and click "New BOM." Select the finished product you want to produce, then add the component products and the quantity of each needed per unit produced. Components must exist in Inventory before they can be added to a BOM.
Checking what you can produce
On the BOM list, MoniePilot shows "Can produce: X units" based on your current component stock levels. If a component is low, the producible quantity drops to zero for that BOM.
Creating a work order
Click "New work order," select the BOM, enter the quantity to produce, and assign a location. When you start the work order, component stock is reserved. When you mark it complete, components are deducted and the finished product stock is increased.
Tracking production
The Manufacturing overview shows completed work orders and units produced this month. All stock movements from work orders appear in Inventory as automatic movement records with the work order reference.
