Adding Your First Products

Set up your product catalogue in Inventory so products appear in the POS register and online storefront.

Opening the Inventory module

Click Inventory in the sidebar. The overview shows your active product count, locations, low-stock alerts, and recent stock movements. Click "Add product" to create your first item.

Product fields

Fill in the product name, SKU (optional), category, selling price, and cost price. The cost price is used to calculate profit margins and is not shown to customers. Set a reorder point — when stock falls to this level MoniePilot will flag the product as low stock.

Setting opening stock

After creating the product, add an initial stock quantity for each location. This is the stock you have on hand right now. Future sales through the POS register will automatically reduce stock, and incoming stock transfers will increase it.

Categories

Organize products into categories (e.g., Beverages, Electronics, Clothing). Categories appear on the POS register as filter tabs, making it faster for staff to find items during a sale. You can create categories from the Inventory settings tab.
